oh diane!

yes finally i'm on vacation! no more books (except i have to finish great expectations), no more tests (well, i do have one the tuesday we get back), no more essays (i have two, actually due after vacation) and no more annoying percussion section leader who i can't tell if he's kidding or just being a complete ass. i'm truly excited for vacation!

things that suck:

1. i have to finish great expectations
2. i have a paper due and a test the tuesday we get back in history
3. i'm going skiing with my mom only and she doesn't exactly enjoy the double black diamonds as much as i do
   
4. my dad broke 6 ribs skiing MLK weekend so when he does come this weekend to new hampshire he can't ski
5. my sister can't come with us because she just went to florida today with her crew team for a training trip
6. i'll be living in my sweats and ae trapper hat for the next week
7. my ski coat makes me feel like a fatso marshmellow
8. the goggles that fit over my glasses crush my nose in so i can't breathe too well out of that
9. my wallet is going to have a hard time catching up with all the things i want for spring and etc
10. my mom thinks that the lame american apparel leggings are "the ugliest things she's ever seen". great. now i have no chance of getting them
    

things that don't suck:

1. my mom will no longer be stressed about the travel plans for my sister's crew trip
2. no school!!!!!!!!
3. i can finally ski my little brains out and sleep as much as i please
4. according to the attitash website, they got 19inches of FRESH powder on wednesday!!! we got about 8 here in MA so that should be wonderful
5. my skis are freaking gorgeous and i go so fast
6. i'm going out to breakfast tomorrow with my friends

8. i'm wearing PJs right now

my history teacher told us today that money represents faith. "you know how on the dollar it says 'IN GOD WE TRUST'? well, the only thing money is is faith that there's something behind it. it's not actually worth anything." so this really drepressed me because how can something you want so badly actually be worth nothing? perplexing, isn't it?


diane von furstenberg is definitely my favorite spring 07 rtw collection! i love the bright prints and bold colors. although some of it was a bit too psychadelic for me, she provided options. she didn't say "only people with this style can wear my clothes". she left it up to the person's style to define the fashion.

this is my favorite! it's so wearable, whether paired with flats, sandals or heels.

first i'll go through my recent purchases (which i am quite in love with, by the way. unfortunately, i am lacking outfit ideas for them). okay!

jelly jar tunic $58

this is acutally a nightgown from anthropologie. i'll be wearing it as a dress. i already wore it last friday to the GSA benefit coffee house concert at my school over a printed delias thermal, skinny jeans and gray vans. it will be GREAT for spring! it's a tad see-through on the skirt but that can be fixed with leggings.

i got that skirt i talked about last post for spring trends! yes!!! also anthropologie. i convinced my mom that i'll wear it normally (because i will) with flats or sandals and i'll wear it for easter (like we dress up for easter) and other events such as those. ooh! i could also wear it for my sister's graduation, although i think i'll have to wear my band uniform, seeing as the band plays at it. won't that be comfortably polyester.

i went to target today with my mom and i love the new proenza stuff! not all of the things i wanted were there, but oh well. naturally i tried everything on (13 items in total when i went to the dressing room) but i only ended up with two things. i'm ordering a dress online that they didn't have in my size. i love the fit of this tee -- it's baggy and wonderfully soft! i love the rolled-up sleeves. after reading the newest teen vogue cover to cover yesterday, i have a new-found obsession with tees. i'm planning on going to ac moor or macy's (hanes) and buying a bunch of basic ones and making them cool. i'd like to do the GEEK! thing from luella's spring line. she had some great tees in that collection. more inspiration!

proenza schouler palm print jacquard sweater $34.99

in person, i was afraid thsi sweater would be itchy and wool-like, but when i felt how soft and comfy it is, i fell in love! it's big and has a manly fit but i'll wear it over tanks with dainty skirts and flats. it's a great neutral print! i was hoping to get the dress with this same palm print i'd seen in the ads, but they didn't have it in the store. perhaps i can order it. oh great! out of stock. thanks target

merona wanetta anklestrap comfort wedge $22.99

the picture online does not do this wedge justice! they're not nearly as yellow. it's so much cuter in person, and it's got all the things i look for in a shoe -- comfort, cuteness and affordability! at $23, i don't feel bad having my mom pay for these! i've been looking for a wedge that's not too high and is similar to the kork-ease wedges i've been eyeing for so long. i love these and they'll go great with skinnies or tights layered under shorts.

i also got a pair of really comfy, perfectly fitting leopard print flats for $14.99, black opaque tights, black ribbed tights and pucci-inspired printed tights, all at $5.99. so it was a great shopping experience. all i wish was that they had the dresses in my size. i'll just order them online.
