designers i want to kidnap

oh don't worry. i'm not seriously considering a royal kidnapping scheme. i just WANT to because honestly, it doesn't get much better than this in my book. i don't understand how they can be so amazing! the only thing i want them to do -- open a boutique with everything under $40 and still obtaining the same fabulosity as the runway duds do.

how do they do it? they just keep re-inventing their stuff and it still works! this is the high fashion end of my kidnapping scheme. this the impractical but-wouldn't-it-be-amazing-if-i-did-wear-this-? designer. balenciaga is incredible! even the name is high fashion.

fall 2006 rtw -- balenciaga again reinvented itself from edgy romantic to futuristic equestrian. i love the riding helmets and nautical inspiration of these jewel-toned minis. balenciaga also has a modern take on the classic riding boot, adding platformed heels and shapely indents.

spring 2007 rtw -- this is by far one of my favorite spring 2007 collections. i love how extreme it is. it's playing up the metallic trend with everything metallic and futuristic. although it seems unattainable, balenciaga's spring line is there for much-needed inspiration.

luella
ever since the luella for target line, i've been obsessed with luella. too bad i can't afford it because if i could, i'd be draped in head-to-toe luella. i love the bright, fun and young feel of her clothes. and her name is absolutely amazing (thank you mr. and mrs. bartley). luella has captured the playful sophisticate and her clothes can be worn dressed up or down.

spring 2006 rtw -- i'm in love with this collection! the menswear-inspiration is done so well and so new -- none of that boring straight-from-his-closet stuff. the plastic accessories are very refreshing and the english schoolgirl vibe is surprisingly new.

i love this belt -- it's so childish and sophisticated all at the same time

spring 2007 rtw -- i absolutely love the retro inspiration of this collection. the plastic old school sunglasses are definitely my must-have accessory for spring. the pointy patent shoes and graphic tees are perfectly geek-chic. if possible, i'd like the entire collection in my closet by tomorrow.
